Custom fulfillment services

With Shopify, you can use a fulfillment service provided that the warehouse you’re using can process orders by email. If they need more contact than that, then you can hire a Shopify Partner to develop a custom app.

Activate a fulfillment service

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
  2. In the Custom order fulfillment section, click Add fulfillment service.
  3. In the form, enter:
    • the title of your custom fulfillment provider
    • the email address of your custom fulfillment provider.
When you mark an item or complete order as fulfilled in your Shopify admin, the fulfillment service is sent an email with all the order information so that they can fulfill it for you.
  4. Click Save.

Set your products to be fulfilled by your custom service

Steps:

  1. From your store's Products page, select the product to be fulfilled by the custom service.
  2. In the Inventory section, select the fulfillment service that you want to use from the Inventory will be stocked at drop-down menu.
  3. Click Save to save your changes.

Send a fulfillment request to your custom fulfillment service

When you're ready for your customer fulfillment service to ship an order, mark the order as fulfilled from your Shopify admin.

Delete a custom fulfillment service

If you no longer want to use a particular fulfillment service, then you need to make sure that their rates aren't offered to your customers at checkout. If your account with the fulfillment service is in good standing, then you can reactivate the service at any time.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
  2. In the Accounts and integrations section, click Manage integrations.
  3. Next to the fulfillment service, click Edit.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. If there is any inventory set to that service, then select a new location that will inherit the stocked inventory and unfulfilled orders assigned to this location.
  6. Click Delete.
  7. Click Delete to confirm.
