Understanding your Shopify invoice
Shopify emails an invoice every 30 days to the account owner of your store. You can view your invoice history as well as your upcoming bill date and any outstanding charges on your account from the Invoices and fees section of the Billing page in your Shopify admin.
A billing cycle is the length of time between invoices. You can change this time interval, but you can't choose a specific day of the month to receive your invoices.
Shopify has a few different billing cycles:

Shopify has both recurring charges and one-time charges. It's important to understand the different recurring or one time charges that can appear on your invoices. One-time charges, such as the fees you pay for registering a domain or for purchasing a theme, appear on a separate invoice.
Recurring charge types
The following types of recurring charge can occur on your regular monthly invoice:

You can receive individual invoices for the following one-time charge types:
- One-time app charges
- Brokered services (Services Marketplace)
- Shipping labels and shipping adjustments
The following example shows an invoice for a one-time app charge:
If your business is located in a Canadian or American jurisdiction where Shopify has a business presence, then Shopify is required by law to charge applicable taxes on your subscription. You will also see a taxes calculation based on your location.

About billing thresholds
In addition to monthly subscription billing, Shopify also issues bills as necessary throughout the month according to your plan-based billing thresholds. Billing thresholds are dollar values that trigger billing whenever the cost of your account activity exceeds its threshold amount.
Your account is charged when you reach the billing threshold determined by your current Shopify plan. Your will receive an invoice:
- At the end of the day if the total of your transaction fees and other pending charges exceeds your account's daily threshold amount.
- At once whenever the total of your transaction fees and other outstanding charges exceeds your account's maximum threshold amount, which is twice the amount of your account's daily threshold.
You can check your account's threshold amounts in the Invoices section of the Billing page in your Shopify admin.
If you reach your daily billing threshold for shipping labels, then you can continue to buy shipping labels equal to 10% of your threshold amount while an invoice is generated. Any purchases made at this time are included on your next bill. To learn more about how you're billed for shipping labels, contact Shopify support.

Third-party payment providers
If your store uses a third-party payment provider, then you're billed either when the total of your store's fees and charges (including recurring charges for any apps that you have installed) exceeds one of your store's billing thresholds, or at the end of your 30-day billing cycle. For example:
- Your account is billed at the end of the day if the total of your transaction fees and other outstanding charges exceeds your account's daily threshold amount.
- Your account is billed at once whenever the total of your transaction fees and other outstanding charges exceeds your account's maximum threshold amount, which is twice the amount of your account's daily threshold
- If the total of your transaction fees and other outstanding charges is below your billing thresholds, then your account is billed at the end of your 30-day billing period. If you change your Shopify plan, then you will be billed at once for any outstanding and prorated amounts.
You can view your store's billing thresholds in the Invoices section of the Billing page in your Shopify admin.
Your first invoice won't include transaction fees, but your second invoice will include all transaction fees incurred up to that point.
If your store uses Shopify Payments, then the credit card processing rates are deducted from your orders automatically. For any other outstanding charges, including recurring charges for any apps that you've installed, you're billed either when the total of your outstanding charges exceeds one of your store's billing thresholds, or at the end of your 30-day billing cycle, whichever comes first.
